I WAS AVERAGE at everything growing up. Food was my first real passion and I realised this when I was 17. I worked as a chef for 10 years and in my mid-twenties started drawing food. This soon developed into full blown paintings.
I don't paint food much anymore as my subject matter rarely comes from what I see, but rather from what I feel. MY WORK COMES FROM MY ANCESTORS, from the ocean I live by and the people that surround me.
I do alot of research before I begin a new work but when painting I let intuition take over. I don't think too hard about what I'm doing and take as many risks as possible.
